Tracking Audit

Is your ad tracking actually working?

For businesses running Meta and Google ads. When a purchase fires twice, or a lead never fires at all, the platforms learn the wrong story. For $169 we read one website and send a written report: each finding, why it matters, and a prioritized fix list.

The audit is $169, one time. Fixes are quoted from the report. For a monthly tracking-health check, ask us.

The problem

The next dollar follows whatever the events say.

Counted twice

A purchase or a lead leaves the browser from two tags. The platform can treat that campaign as twice as good as it was, and bid like it.

Never counted

The order went through. Ads never heard about it. The budget keeps looking, without the sale it should have learned from.

Three screens, three stories

The pixel, GA4, and Google Ads can disagree about the same day. The next decision gets made from whichever tab is open.

This is for businesses already running paid ads: Shopify and other shops, and lead-gen sites built around a form, a call, or a booking.

What we check in your events

For your site, the report lines up the browser, the server, GA4, and Google Ads, and marks a duplicate, a miss, or a mismatch.

This illustrates the report format for your site.

The audit

What the $169 actually covers

One website. We write down what we could see, and what we couldn't.

Meta pixel and Conversions API

  • Whether the pixel is present and firing
  • Whether a server event is present and firing
  • Whether the browser event and the server event are deduplicated
  • Whether value, currency, and product identifiers travel with a purchase

GA4

  • Whether GA4 is installed on the property you mean
  • Whether key events and conversions exist for the actions the ads are supposed to produce
  • Whether leftover Universal Analytics is still on the page. Universal Analytics stopped processing in July 2024
  • Whether the confirmation page is measured, or only the click that leads there

Tag Manager and Google Ads

  • What the GTM container is actually publishing
  • Whether Google Ads conversion tags exist for the campaigns that are spending
  • Duplicate or broken tags, including a tag that still points at an old URL
  • Whether a tag lives in the theme, a Shopify custom pixel, or an app instead

Consent banner and Consent Mode

  • Whether a consent banner is on the site
  • Whether Consent Mode is in place
  • What we could see, and what a checkout or an app hid
  • A note is not legal advice, and we don't guess the rest

What your audit report shows

For your store, each finding names the event, why it matters, and where it sits on the prioritized fix list. Fixes are quoted from the report.

Written report

Your store

Your site

Duplicate

Purchase on your site

We check whether your store sends Purchase from the theme and again from a second tag. If those hits don't share an event ID, the report marks them duplicate.

What we'd change. Keep a single browser Purchase on your site. If a server event is added, give it that same event ID.

Missing

Server event for your store

We look for a server Purchase that matches the browser event on your site. If it isn't there, the report marks the Conversions API missing.

What we'd change. Send one matching server event. That install is quoted separately.

Missing

Lead on your site

We check whether your store's confirmation URL records a lead key event in GA4, or only a page view.

What we'd change. Record the lead on your site's confirmation URL only, and mark it as a key event.

Mismatch

Conversion URL for your store

We check whether the Google Ads lead action points at your site's live confirmation URL.

What we'd change. Point the conversion at your store's live confirmation URL and check that it fires once.

How it works

Nothing starts until the scope is in writing.

  1. 1

    Send the website

Use the form, or write to us. Say whether the ads run on Meta, Google, or both, and what you count as a conversion.

  2. 2

    Confirm scope and access

We confirm the $169 in writing. Read-only access to Meta Business Manager, GA4, Google Tag Manager, and Google Ads is enough, and only if you can grant it. We never ask for passwords.

  3. 3

    Read the report

You get each finding, why it matters, and a prioritized fix list.

  4. 4

    Decide on a fix

We confirm the $169 in writing before we start and send a Stripe card payment link. Fixes are quoted separately, and nothing is paid for a fix until you approve its quote.

Questions

Before you email

What do I get for $169?

A written report on one website. We check the Meta pixel and Conversions API (present, firing, and deduplicated), GA4 (installed, key events and conversions, and leftover Universal Analytics, which stopped processing in July 2024), the Google Tag Manager container, Google Ads conversion tags, duplicate or broken tags, and the consent banner and Consent Mode. Each finding says what we saw, why it matters, and where it sits on a prioritized fix list.

Is a fix included?

No. $169 is the audit, once. Fixes are quoted from the report. There is no set price for a fix, and nothing on the site or in the ad accounts changes until you approve that quote in writing.

Is there a monthly check?

A monthly tracking-health check can follow the audit, for the same website. Ask us. It has no price on this page.

Who is it for?

Businesses already running Meta ads, Google ads, or both, on a shop or a lead-gen site. We decline health, medical, pharmacy, and therapy businesses. We also won't install tracking that collects health information on any site.

What access do you need?

Read-only access to Meta Business Manager, GA4, Google Tag Manager, and Google Ads, and only if you can grant it. You can take it away when the audit is done. We never ask for passwords.

Do you run the ads as well?

No. We don't buy media, write ads, or manage campaigns.

Are you a partner of Meta, Google, Shopify, or Stripe?

No. Those are product names. Plusone Technology is not affiliated with, partnered with, or certified by them.

How do I pay?

Send the form on this page, or email tracking@getplusonets.com . We confirm the $169 in writing before we start and send a Stripe card payment link. Fixes are quoted separately, and nothing is paid for a fix until you approve its quote. Please don't send card numbers. This site has no card fields.

What about a consent banner?

The audit looks at the consent banner and Consent Mode. That is a note about what is on the site, not legal advice. We won't add tracking that ignores a consent rule you've told us about.

Do you track visitors here?

No. This site has no analytics and no advertising pixels, and it sets no cookies, so it does not show a consent banner. The form opens an email in your own mail program.

Yes, no, or not sure. Meta Business Manager, GA4, Google Tag Manager, and Google Ads. We never ask for passwords.
